Yellow Painted Sconce

New England, ca. late 18th/early 19th century.

Tinned-sheet iron with the original highly patinaed yellow paint, with long-time build-up of candle soot and ash. Embossed sides wrapped around firming wire leading to a crimped hood. The D-shaped drip pan with original slotted candle cup. Minor paint flecking. About 13 inches tall.

A very nice example of early American lighting.
