CHARMING SMALL
SHAKER BOX
IN BLUE PAINT
Northeast, ca. mid-19th century.
Original soft, dry BLUE paint on maple side-wall with pine top and bottom, blue being an uncommonly found paint color in this period. Delightful smaller size of just 6 inches long x 4 wide x 2 tall. Crisply-cut three finger design, with joinery by forged copper nails.
Structurally excellent condition, lid fits "just right" with an ancient minor edge loss and unobtrusive little dents on top; clean interior; period wear to paint as shown.
